The report engaged over 28 public relations agencies from at least fifteen (15) countries across the continent, representing North, South, East, and West Africa, along with insights from industry .

The report provides a comprehensive, data-driven perspective on the trends, challenges, and opportunities shaping public relations in Africa today. These insights serve as a valuable resource for professionals across various sectors, including government, technology,
healthcare, finance, nonprofit organizations, development, media, event management, hospitality, and
retail.

Mary Njoki, CEO of Glass House PR highlighted that the the PR industry in Africa is at a pivotal moment, with digital disruption, demographic shifts, and increasing demand for strategic communication reshaping how we engage with audiences to navigate the future of PR in Africa.

“This report is a roadmap for PR professionals, businesses, and policymakers to navigate these changes and harness the power of storytelling for impactful communication,”she said

The findings of the report underscored the need for better collaboration between PR professionals and the media. Journalists often view PR as simply press release distribution, while PR practitioners stress the importance of delivering newsworthy content. “We must ensure that what we bring to the media is impactful and resonates with audiences,” an industry leader emphasized.

As part of efforts to bridge gaps in the sector, the Africa Global PR Week is set to take place in Nairobi on August 26-27, 2025. The event will bring together global PR professionals to discuss data-driven campaigns, AI integration, and strategies to position Africa’s brand on the world stage.

Additionally, the Africa Finance Summit initiative was highlighted as a key step in resolving regulatory conflicts in the financial technology space. With Kenya being a leader in mobile banking innovations, the summit aims to create a dialogue between fintech innovators and regulators to shape the future of finance in Africa.
