For many drivers and delivery partners, it has become an essential income source. According to the report, 87% of drivers used their earnings to cover critical expenses such as bills. One driver from Kiambu shared how the platform enabled him to send his son to high school. “I earned enough money through the Uber app to secure my son’s education, ” he said.

At the launch, Kui Mbugua, Uber Eats Kenya’s General Manager, emphasized support for small businesses. She stated, “Uber Eats helps enterprises grow by expanding reach, refining offerings, and understanding customer preferences to boost local economies.”

The report also shows the impact on local businesses. In 2023, the app supported Kenya’s nighttime economy by facilitating Ksh 167 million. It ensured people reached entertainment spots like bars and restaurants safely.
