Nairobi, Kenya, August 28, 2025 – Mabati Rolling Mills (MRM), the flagship company of the Safal Group, has unveiled Kenya’s first mobile showroom, an innovation designed to take quality building solutions directly to customers wherever they are.

Speaking at the launch, MRM Managing Director Albert Sigei described the initiative as a proud milestone in the company’s six-decade journey of innovation.

“This is our 27th showroom, but a very special one on wheels. The reason is simple: we listen to our customers. With devolution shaping service delivery, we want to be present on the ground, closer to consumers,” he said.

Dubbed “MRM Machinani,” the mobile unit is expected to transform how customers interact with the company’s products and services.

“Wherever our customers are, we will come to them,” Sigei added. “This showroom will not only display our products but also provide expert guidance, construction advice, and post-sales support.”

Currently, MRM operates 17 showrooms and 9 service centers across Kenya. The mobile showroom now becomes its 27th outlet and doubles up as an educational hub, raising awareness about safe and effective building practices.

The Head of Sales at MRM emphasized the importance of this role, noting:

“Too often, shortcuts and substandard materials cause building failures. We are committed to fighting that by educating builders and homeowners alike.”

The mobile unit will showcase MRM’s wide portfolio, from roofing sheets such as Dumuzas and Resincot, to elegant tile profiles like Versatile and Elegantile, stone-coated tiles under the Lifestile brand, and complete housing solutions through Safal Homes. Customers will also benefit from virtual demonstrations of products.

Through its Fundi Program, MRM trains artisans on proper construction techniques. Following its last showroom launch, the company trained 50 fundis and aims to scale up the program each year.

Sigei said this commitment reflects the Safal Group’s value of care:

“Care for customers, care for communities, and care for the environment.”

The new mobile showroom also aligns with Kenya’s Vision 2030 and the Affordable Housing Agenda by making building solutions more affordable and accessible to a wider population.

As MRM expands its reach, the “showroom on wheels” marks a bold new chapter in customer service and innovation.

“For us, this is not just about products—it is about building dreams, mile by mile,” Sigei concluded.
