Nairobi, September 6, 2025 – After two decades of what supporters describe as wasted leadership, women from across Nairobi are rallying behind Rosemary Okuta to take over as the ODM Nairobi County Women’s Chairlady in the upcoming elections.

From Embakasi Central to Westlands, Lang’ata, and other constituencies, women leaders have openly endorsed Rosemary, saying she represents the fresh energy and accountability ODM women urgently need. They argue that Catherine Okoth, who has held the position for 20 years, has left no visible office, no development, and no meaningful progress during her long tenure.

“Catherine has sat on the seat for two decades with nothing to show. It is time she steps down. Rosemary is the leader who will bring dignity, unity, and real change,” said a supporter from Embakasi Central.

Rosemary has also dismissed claims linking her to UDA, affirming her strong commitment to ODM and its vision. Her camp has urged members to prepare for the ballot, reminding them that elections are about choosing leaders who deliver, not those who cling to power without results.

Her supporters say Rosemary is a candidate of integrity and inclusivity who will revive the ODM women’s league in Nairobi and restore confidence among members. They believe her leadership will open opportunities for women empowerment and grassroots development.

As the ODM elections draw closer, Nairobi women are being called upon to know their candidate, weigh their track record, and vote wisely. For many, Rosemary stands as the face of change after 20 years of stagnation under Catherine Okoth.
