Nairobi, October 8 — Excitement filled the air at St. Patrick’s High School, Nairobi, as students watched their newly renovated computer lab come to life — complete with 30 brand new laptops donated by Mars Wrigley Kenya.

For many of these students, it was more than just a gift. It was a door opening to a world of possibilities in a fast-changing digital age.

The donation and lab renovation are part of Mars Wrigley’s broader community engagement strategy aimed at bridging the digital divide and empowering young learners to thrive in a technology-driven world.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Mars Wrigley General Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa, Ismael Bello, said the company remains committed to supporting education and digital literacy across Kenya.

“At Mars Wrigley, we believe in making a difference in the communities where we operate,” he said. “Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, explore, and develop digital skills. We are proud to partner with St. Patrick’s High School to create an environment where students can thrive.”

Across Kenya, the company has continued to invest in programs that expand learning opportunities, particularly in underserved communities, with a focus on equipping students with tools for the future.

The principal of St. Patrick’s High School, Madam Prisca Ochieng, expressed heartfelt gratitude, describing the donation as a turning point for her students.

“Your support today will have a lasting impact on our learners,” she said. “Access to technology is no longer a luxury it’s essential for research, learning, and preparing for future careers. These laptops will help us move closer to our goal of achieving full digital literacy for every student.”

As the new computers hummed to life, students eagerly gathered around, their faces lit with curiosity and hope a reflection of what the future now holds for them in a world powered by knowledge and innovation.
