Eastmatt Supermarket: Transforming Shopping in Baba Dogo with New Branch.

Eastmatt Supermarkets has added another feather to its cap with the grand opening of its 11th branch in Baba Dogo, Ruaraka Constituency. This latest expansion underscores Eastmatt’s commitment to bringing affordable, high-quality products and a convenient shopping experience to underserved communities across Kenya.

Morris Kiunge, Eastmatt’s Head of Marketing, spoke passionately about the retailer’s affordability and value-driven model during the launch. “Eastmatt is dedicated to offering some of the lowest prices among top retail chains, giving customers both variety and value for their money,” he noted. The Baba Dogo branch provides a comprehensive range of products, including fresh produce, groceries, household essentials, and baked goods, catering to budget-conscious shoppers.

The new branch aims to boost affordability and make a strong economic impact in the area. Teresa Mwangi, Eastmatt’s Human Capital Manager, emphasized the company’s role in creating over 750 direct jobs. She commended the team’s resilience in overcoming challenges like COVID-19 delays, calling the launch a major milestone.

The community welcomed the branch with excitement. Anne Wangari, an early shopper, called the store a game-changer for offering competitive prices and diverse products. She added that the store eases the burden of traveling far for quality goods. Eastmatt’s CEO reflected on the brand’s journey, which began with its first Eastleigh outlet in 1994.

The company overcame challenges like the 2018 fire at the Mfangano branch and continued to innovate and grow. Innovations like the milk ATM service have cemented Eastmatt’s reputation as a reliable retail partner.

The Baba Dogo branch, located in the Utalii area, spans three floors and offers an impressive range of products. The store’s customer-first approach aims to attract shoppers from Ruaraka and beyond, strengthening Eastmatt’s retail presence.
