IQSK Launches Landmark Construction Handbooks to Revolutionize Industry.

Nairobi, Kenya – The Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (IQSK) has unveiled two pivotal publications during its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Panari Sky Hotel on Friday, 30th May 2025.

Principal Secretary for Public Works Joel Arumoyang was unable to attend, his speech delivered by a representative highlighted the significance of the new resources: the 2025/2026 Construction Costs Handbook and the Quantity Surveying Standards, Practices, and Procedures (SPP).

First, the Construction Costs Handbook offers up-to-date pricing for building materials across Kenya. By providing accurate market data, it enables better budgeting and reduces disputes in construction projects.

Additionally, the SPP introduces international best practices and modern technology to the field. This guide aims to standardize training, promote sustainability, and align Kenya’s construction sector with global advancements.

In his speech, PS Arumoyang commended IQSK for enhancing transparency and efficiency in the industry. He also reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting digitization, youth mentorship, and stronger regulatory frameworks.
