KELIN Fights to Keep HIV and TB Treatment Available for All.

The Kenya Legal & Ethical Issues Network on HIV and AIDS (KELIN) and community health advocates are pushing for urgent action to ensure no Kenyan misses life-saving HIV and TB treatment. Their plan focuses on three key areas: steady medicine supply, more local funding, and better management of medical stocks.

Thousands of Kenyans rely on antiretroviral drugs and TB medication daily. Activists warn that treatment gaps could lead to drug resistance and deaths. They insist the government must prevent shortages at all costs.

International donors have long supported Kenya’s HIV and TB programs. However, funding cuts threaten progress. Health groups now urge the Ministry of Health and Treasury to increase local funding. “We must take charge of our health system,” a community advocate said. “This is Kenya’s responsibility.”

Recent drug shortages have exposed flaws in Kenya’s medical supply chain. Campaigners demand immediate reforms at KEMSA, the state drug supplier. “KEMSA must work efficiently,” they say. “No Kenyan should suffer because of poor management.”

The movement strongly backs people living with HIV, TB patients, and vulnerable communities. “Our fight continues,” activists say. “We will keep demanding better healthcare for everyone.”

With over 1.4 million Kenyans living with HIV and TB still a major killer, the stakes are high. Reliable treatment and proper funding could save countless lives.

Community health advocates promise to maintain pressure on leaders. They want quick action to fix the health system. For many Kenyans, it’s a matter of life and death.
