Managing Director Peter Murungi assured customers that the company maintains strict quality standards, ensuring Shell V-Power meets international fuel benchmarks.
Speaking at a media briefing at a Shell station in Nairobi, Murungi emphasized the company’s rigorous quality control measures. He noted that Shell V-Power consistently meets the Research Octane Number (RON) standard rating of 95.

“For the last 100 years, we have provided customers with premium fuel products. Our commitment to quality is not just a promise—it is backed by significant investments in infrastructure, technology, and skilled personnel,” Murungi said.
To guarantee product quality, Vivo Energy Kenya has implemented thorough checks at multiple levels. Before fuel leaves the depot, it undergoes specification checks and inspections at an ISO-certified laboratory in Mombasa. Additional tests are conducted at Shell labs in both Nairobi and Mombasa.
Murungi further explained that daily tests are carried out to monitor key fuel parameters such as color and water content. Advanced systems provide real-time quality metrics, allowing for immediate action if any variations are detected.
