ODM Women Cry Foul Over Alleged Plot to Alter Nairobi Delegate List.

Nairobi – Tension is rising within the ODM Nairobi women’s league after reports emerged that the system of elections is being tampered with, allegedly to frustrate Hon. Rosemary Okutu, who has attracted overwhelming support in her bid for the chairlady seat.

ODM women delegates accused the outgoing leadership, led by Catherine Okoth and her allies, of plotting to alter the official delegate list. They claimed the scheme was hatched with the help of senior party figures and is aimed at watering down Okutu’s growing influence.

According to the women, suspicious calls have been made to delegates, demanding their names, ID numbers, and phone contacts, raising fears of manipulation. They warned that changing even “a full stop” in the list would trigger a serious dispute.

“We have the official lists from polling stations to constituencies. Elections happened, and the records are clear. Any attempt to alter them will not be accepted,” said one of the ODM women leaders.

The delegates urged the party’s Director of Registration, Jared Omach, not to allow himself to be used in what they described as an “unworthy and dangerous scheme.” They further appealed to the Executive Director, referred to as the OCPD of the party, to step in and safeguard the credibility of the election process.

“This is bad behavior. Delegates are not in favor of Catherine, and instead of facing the will of the people, some are trying to play with the system. It will not work,” said one delegate.

Hon. Rosemary Okutu, who has emerged as the leading contender, has continued to insist on transparent, fair, and inclusive elections. She maintains her campaign is rooted in restoring dignity and opening opportunities for ODM women in Nairobi.

With elections approaching, ODM women warned that any attempt to change the list at Chungwa House would amount to betraying the spirit of democracy within the party.

“Let them remember the list was already in the portal, and we took it. Any alteration will be resisted,” the women said in a joint statement.
