The “Javv na Coke” campaign began at 6 a.m., allowing passengers to enjoy free rides by purchasing a Coke for Ksh 20.
This initiative offered financial relief, particularly during the tough January season, earning praise and gratitude from commuters across Nairobi.
Florence Waweru, a commuter, shared her joy, saying she saved Ksh 120 in fares and enjoyed a Coke instead.
Ms. Joyce Akinyi, a vendor, praised the campaign, noting it saved her Ksh 40, easing her financial burden in January.
Justus Ndunda, another commuter, highlighted his excitement, sharing he saved Ksh 40 while enjoying a refreshing Coke on his journey.
Though unclear if the campaign will expand to other stages, it has sparked hope for more such surprises in the future.
