In a seamless transition of power, former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya officially took over as the Cabinet Secretary for Cooperative Development from Simon Chelugui in a highly attended ceremony at the Ministry’s headquarters in Nairobi. The event, held on Thursday, was graced by senior government officials, cooperative sector stakeholders, and representatives from civil society.
Simon Chelugui, who served as Cabinet Secretary for Cooperative Development, leaves behind a legacy of transformative reforms, having spearheaded initiatives such as the digitization of cooperative societies and enhancing financial transparency.
