KFC Brings Kenyan Flavours and Fashion to Nairobi Through Kentucky Town 254

NAIROBI, Kenya, October 22, 2026 — KFC has launched Kentucky Town 254, a limited-edition campaign blending Kenyan-inspired food, locally designed fashion and interactive entertainment as the fast-food chain gives its menu a distinctly local twist.

The campaign, which marks the first East African rollout of KFC’s Kentucky Town experience, features new menu items inspired by familiar Kenyan foods and an exclusive apparel collection developed in partnership with Nairobi-based fashion house home_254.

Speaking during the launch at The Junction Mall in Nairobi on Thursday, Dorothy Muthoni, chief marketing officer at Kuku Foods East Africa, said the idea was to create an experience that reflects Kenyan tastes and creativity rather than simply adapt an existing campaign for the local market.

“We didn’t want to bring Kentucky Town to Kenya and simply put a Kenyan name on it. We wanted Kenya to have a say in what Kentucky Town becomes,” Muthoni said.

“That means food that tastes familiar, fashion that feels like us, and an experience that gives people a reason to come together.”

The menu, available at selected KFC restaurants until November 15, includes The Colonel’s Mandazi Burger, The Kentucky Choma Burger, The Colonel’s Mandazi Pops, Samosa Crunch and Catch These Masala Fries. Customers can also order the Birthday Cake Krusher and One in a Melon Krusher drinks.

The offerings draw on flavours familiar to Kenyan consumers, reworked into KFC-style meals and snacks. The campaign’s future menu options could depend on customer response, with Muthoni saying the company would assess how Kenyans receive the limited-time products.

Beyond food, Kentucky Town 254 will feature four weekend pop-up experiences across Nairobi, bringing together music, games, interactive activities and the exclusive clothing collection.

The activations will take place at The Junction Mall from October 23 to 25, Galleria Shopping Mall from October 30 to November 1, The Hub Karen from November 6 to 8, and Garden City Mall from November 13 to 15.

Visitors will be able to take part in activities including a dance challenge, virtual reality gaming, a basketball hoop challenge and a photo booth. The first 100 visitors to the pop-up on Friday, October 23, will also receive a complimentary Samosa Crunch, according to the company.

Customers who purchase a Kentucky Town meal at a participating KFC restaurant can use their receipt to access any of the pop-up experiences. The menu is available at selected outlets, while the activities and merchandise are limited to the four locations.

The collaboration with home_254 adds a fashion element to the campaign. The collection includes T-shirts, crop tops, varsity jackets, sweatshirts, sweatpants, jorts, shrugs and puffer jackets, with a styling corner where visitors can try on pieces and take photographs.

Home_254 founder Job Brian Jura said the collection was designed and made in Kenya, with the pieces hand-printed locally.

“Everything is designed and made in Kenya and hand-printed locally, so a Kentucky Town piece carries a little bit of home long after the campaign ends,” Jura said.

He described the collection as wearable art that allows customers to express Kenyan creativity and pride through fashion.

Kenyan creators and influencers, including Kendi Q, comedian Mwirigi and Wangari Kairu, are also expected to support the campaign through social media and appearances at the pop-up events.

KFC Africa Chief Marketing Officer Hloni Mohope said the experience was intended to introduce audiences to the brand through entertainment, exclusive merchandise and a menu that takes its familiar offerings in new directions.

Kenya is KFC’s second-largest African market after South Africa, with 48 restaurants across the country, according to the company. Kuku Foods East Africa, which operates KFC in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda, opened Kenya’s first outlet in 2011.

The company also says 98 per cent of KFC’s supply chain in Kenya is localised, supporting farmers, manufacturers and other businesses.

Kentucky Town 254 will run until November 15, giving customers a limited period to sample the menu and experience the food, fashion and entertainment activities before the campaign ends.
