Lenana Kariba Speaks on UK Life and Returning for Single Kiasi Season 4

London-based actor Lenana Kariba is back on Single Kiasi for Season 4, stepping into a storyline loaded with tension after Season 3 ended with him in bed with Sintamei (Gathoni Mutua). Fans now want to know what becomes of Rebecca (Faith Kibathi) and whether Nick can survive the storm he created.
In an exclusive conversation, Lenana opens up about life in the UK, juggling an international career, and what viewers should expect this season.
Lenana says his life in the UK began as a twist he never planned for. He met his now wife, and when she had to return home, he followed his gut and moved with her. He didn’t worry about leaving Kenya or losing work. He believed things would fall into place — and they did.
He now loves life in the UK and calls the move one of the best decisions he has ever made.
Even with the distance, Lenana still auditions and lands Kenyan roles with surprising ease. He credits this to the patience and support of filmmakers Philip and Grace. They work around his schedule, allowing him to fly in, shoot, and return home.
“This season I was in Kenya for just three weeks,” he says. “Three intense, back-to-back weeks. Then I’m gone again. It’s a whirlwind, but it works.”
Season 4 puts Nick right back in the heat. After breaking Rebecca’s trust again, he tries harder to be sincere. Lenana says Nick wants to fix things, but life keeps throwing curveballs.
“They have been through a lot. He is honest this time, but things don’t always go the way he hopes,” he says.
Nick’s character swings between hero and villain, a balance that continues this season. Lenana believes Nick sits right in the middle — a good man who makes mistakes, tries to be better, but sometimes gets it wrong.
“I think he is a nice guy,” Lenana says. “He just faces a lot. Many things are not his fault. The odds are against him, but he truly loves Rebecca.”
Family drama also follows him into Season 4. Nick’s mother, played by Nini Wacera, takes a small step back because she has her own chaos to handle. But just when Nick thinks he’s safe, an aunt shows up with her own opinions.
“She is not a fan of Rebecca either,” he says. “But Nick stands up for his relationship this time. Even if it means fighting with family. Love is war.”
Lenana hints at a scene he is most proud of one filled with deep emotion and happiness. He describes it only as a “lovely, emotional, happy love scene,” leaving fans to wait and see.
This season, viewers will finally understand Nick’s true nature. Lenana believes fans will see a sincere man who doesn’t quite match the flashy celebrity image around him.
“He is genuine. People will see that now,” he says.
He also shares a fun memory from earlier seasons. During Nick’s first appearance, he had to crouch awkwardly in a club scene to fit the camera angle. “To date, everyone still laughs about it,” he says.
When it comes to long shoot days, his go-to snack is simple: spicy chicken wings from Chicken Inn.
“If Nick had a crossover, he’d jump into The Chocolate Empire,” he adds with a laugh.
And the three things he would take to a desert island? His phone, Chicken Inn wings, and a Showmax subscription.
As for what’s next, Lenana returns to the UK after wrapping Season 4. He has several projects in the works, though he can’t reveal details yet. He is also focused on raising his two-year-old daughter.
On international productions, he says he didn’t move abroad to chase global fame, but opportunities are coming.
“You can definitely look forward to seeing things I’ll probably do,” he says.
