Nairobi, May 18th, 2026 – Kenya’s construction industry is embracing a new finishing solution following the launch of Mixx Cement, a South African wall and floor coating product designed to offer durability, elegance and affordability.

The product was unveiled during a stakeholders’ seminar hosted by Pavilion Master Builders, bringing together architects, contractors, interior designers and developers eager to explore modern finishing alternatives for homes and commercial spaces.

Speaking during the launch, Moya Blight, Chief Executive Officer of Mixx Cement South Africa, said the company had partnered with Pavilion Master Builders to introduce Kenya to advanced micro-cement technology already widely used in Southern Africa.

Blight explained that Mixx Cement specialises in thin-film coatings for walls and floors, offering both interior and exterior applications that provide a premium appearance while remaining easy to maintain.

“We are a cement and micro-cement wall and floor coating company. Our systems are durable, economical and easy to use, yet they still give a beautiful high-end finish,” she said.

She noted that one of the product’s biggest strengths is its flexibility, saying it can be applied on several surfaces including painted walls, tiled floors, raw cement and even glass.

In addition, she said the flooring solution, known as Easy Floor, has gained popularity in luxury homes, lodges and hotels due to its durability and stylish appearance.

According to Blight, many hotel owners have embraced the product because it lasts longer than ordinary wall coatings, reducing the need for frequent repainting.

“Hotels often repaint every three to five years, but our product lasts much longer. At the same time, it works beautifully across different designs, whether modern homes, traditional spaces or lodges,” she explained.

Blight further revealed that her journey with the product began nearly 30 years ago, inspired by her background in design and a passion for creating practical building finishes.

She said she wanted to develop a coating solution that was simple to use, effective and accessible, even for people with little technical experience.

“I fell in love with cement many years ago and wanted to create alternatives that really worked. Over time, the product continued to grow and improve,” she added.

Also addressing the seminar, Simon Pogson, Marketing Director at Africa Supplies Ltd, said the launch builds on a long-standing partnership between his company and Pavilion Master Builders.

Pogson said the relationship spans more than 17 years, during which both firms have introduced leading construction products into the Kenyan market, including Dekra roofing systems.

He expressed confidence that Mixx Cement would receive a positive reception among Kenyan consumers.

“Mixx is tried, tested and trusted across Africa, especially in Southern Africa. Kenyans appreciate beautiful and high-quality products, and I believe they are going to love this one,” he said.

He described the coating as a fresh and innovative product capable of transforming homes and commercial spaces with premium finishes rarely seen in the market.

Pogson further encouraged homeowners, architects and developers to visit Pavilion Master Builders and experience the product firsthand.

Meanwhile, James Kimotho, CEO of Pavilion Master Builders, said the company remains focused on providing complete construction solutions rather than simply selling products.

Kimotho noted that the company, which also deals in Dekra roofing tiles, light gauge steel construction and fibre cement building systems, prioritises products supported by training and technical expertise.

“At Pavilion Master Builders, we do not just give products to the market. We offer solutions backed by partners who support training and proper installation,” he said.

He added that trained applicators are already available to help contractors and property owners correctly install Mixx Cement products to ensure quality finishes and long-lasting performance.

At the same time, Kimotho invited stakeholders in the construction sector to visit the company’s showroom at Vision Plaza, where live demonstrations of the product are ongoing.

He said the company has already used Mixx Cement finishes within the showroom to allow customers to see the results firsthand before making decisions.

As demand grows, Kimotho revealed that Pavilion Master Builders plans to expand distribution beyond Nairobi through offices in Eldoret and Kisumu, while also partnering with dealers in Mombasa, Naivasha and Nakuru.

“We want these solutions to be accessible across the country so that customers can easily find them near where they live and work,” he said.

The entry of Mixx Cement into Kenya reflects a growing shift in the construction industry, where developers and homeowners are increasingly seeking finishing products that combine beauty, durability and long-term value.
