Bangbet Kenya stepped away from business as usual to launch a powerful initiative not to promote betting, but to promote dignity.

At the serene Lord Erroll Gardens in Runda, the company unveiled its Changing Lives – Powered by Bangbet initiative. No fanfare, no product hype just a heartfelt mission to support the most vulnerable Kenyans silently suffering in hospital wards and struggling homes.

At the heart of this mission is the Bangbet Hospital Support Fund, kicked off with a Ksh 1 million donation to St. Mary’s Hospital a faith-based facility renowned for welcoming all, regardless of their ability to pay.

“This act of kindness is more than financial help,” said Sister Dr. Rose Nafula, CEO of St. Mary’s. “It is healing for the soul. It gives hope to families, restores dignity, and shows that someone cares.”

Bangbet’s CEO, David Gichuchi, emphasized that this was not a marketing gimmick. “This is about walking with people in their lowest moments. Our platform must serve a greater purpose and that purpose is compassion,” he told the audience.

In a refreshing twist to typical CSR events, Bangbet also recognized Friends of Bangbet everyday Kenyans chosen for their resilience. Each received support tools like motorcycles or TVs not as handouts, but as investments in their future.

“This is about dignity,” said Gichuchi. “We want single mothers, boda boda riders, and small traders to know they matter. They are seen, and they are supported.”

Adding moral weight to the occasion was Rev. Dr. Jane Mwikali Makau, Chairperson of the Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB), who praised the initiative.“This is what responsible betting should look like,” she noted. “Compassion, ethics, and a focus on humanity. Bangbet has raised the bar.”True to BCLB guidelines, the event was free of gambling promotions or branded giveaways. Instead, it was filled with a spirit of humility, service, and quiet strength. For the team at St. Mary’s, the gesture echoed their mission. “We don’t just treat the sick. We restore hope,” said a nurse after the event.

“Today, Bangbet helped us do that.”Looking ahead, Bangbet confirmed the initiative will expand to other counties with the same commitment to serving silently, sincerely, and with dignity.“This is who we are,” Gichuchi said. “
