Daikin Opens Nairobi Office, Sets Sights on No. 1 AC Brand in Africa.

Nairobi, Kenya – September 12, 2025: Daikin Airconditioning India Pvt. Ltd. (DAIPL), the fully owned subsidiary of Daikin Industries Ltd., Japan, has officially inaugurated its new office facility in Nairobi as it sets its sights on becoming Africa’s number one air-conditioning brand within the next three years.
The new office, located on the 8th Floor of One Africa Place in Nairobi, underlines Daikin’s confidence in the African market and its commitment to offering innovative, energy-efficient solutions to a growing base of discerning customers. It houses a modern showroom designed to showcase Daikin’s wide product range, while also serving as a platform for marketing, promotional services, and customer engagement.
Speaking during the inauguration, KJ Jawa, Chairman and Managing Director of Daikin India and Board Member of Daikin Industries Ltd., said the launch marked a critical step in Daikin’s African growth strategy. He emphasized that with India demonstrating robust business growth, Daikin was now poised to adopt a more aggressive approach in Africa.
“We are committed to providing an unmatched consumer experience through our highly trained sales, service, and maintenance teams, supported by a strong dealer network and dedicated employees,” Jawa said. He added that Daikin’s vision went beyond expansion, highlighting its long-term commitment to excellence, strategic partnerships, and contributions to Africa’s evolving landscape.
Junichi Omori, General Manager of Daikin’s Global Operations Division, described Africa as a market of immense potential. He noted that rapid urbanization, infrastructure growth, and rising housing demand are fueling the appetite for smart and energy-efficient air-conditioning solutions.
“The African market has shown remarkable momentum in the last year, and we see it growing into a multi-billion-dollar opportunity,” Omori said. “This is why we are introducing Africa-specific products, significantly expanding our dealer network, and investing heavily in marketing, customer engagement, and dealer development to strengthen our leadership position and surpass competitors in the next 12 months.”
