Nairobi Opposition MCAs Condemn Attacks on Raila Odinga, Call for Unity in Politics.

In a press briefing held at the Boulevard Hotel earlier today, opposition Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) in Nairobi addressed the media regarding the recent political developments in the country. The MCAs expressed their strong condemnation of the attacks directed at opposition leader Raila Odinga during his recent visit to Kisii, where he was hosted by local leaders.

The MCAs, led by Kilimani ward MCA Moses Ogeto described the incident as a worrying escalation of political intolerance. “We are deeply concerned about the attacks on our leader, Raila Odinga, which are not only an affront to him but also to the democratic principles we hold dear as a nation,” Ogeto stated. “Such acts of violence and intimidation have no place in our politics, and we call on all leaders to embrace dialogue and respect for one another.”

The briefing also highlighted the growing concerns over the state of broad-based politics in the country. The opposition MCAs emphasized the need for inclusivity and unity, urging leaders across the political divide to focus on addressing the challenges facing Kenyans rather than engaging in divisive tactics.

The MCAs called on the government to ensure the safety of all political leaders and their supporters, particularly as the country navigates a critical period in its political landscape. They also urged Kenyans to remain vigilant and reject any attempts to sow division or undermine the country’s democratic values.
