National Research Fund (NRF) in collaboration with Young Scientists Kenya (YSK) has launched the Inaugural Kenya National Research Festival (KNRF) which promises to be a groundbreaking platform for showcasing innovation and fostering partnerships.
Prof. Dickson Andala, CEO of NRF, emphasized the transformative power of research in his speech, highlighting Kenya’s commitment to harnessing research, science, technology, and innovation (RSTI) for socio-economic development. “The KNRF is not just a celebration of our researchers’ groundbreaking discoveries; it is a platform where greater ideas will be born, partnerships forged, and the transformative power of research fully realized,” he stated.
At the same time Dr. Beatrice Inyangala, Principal Secretary of the State Department of Higher Education and Research, represented by Prof. Benedict Mutua, Vice Chancellor of the Technical University of Kenya, echoed these sentiments. She underscored the critical role of RSTI in global competitiveness and youth empowerment, calling on stakeholders to support the festival through sponsorships and active participation to ensure it exceeds all expectations.
The festival, featuring the 7th YSK National Science and Technology Exhibition, will bring together over 1,000 students from 390 schools across Kenya. This event is set to inspire the next generation of researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs, cementing Kenya’s position as a hub for scientific excellence and innovation.
