A bright and deserving student from Sogoo village in Narok has received a full university scholarship from Sanlam, bringing joy to his family and community.
Nathan Kipng’eno, a 17-year-old former pupil of Cheborge High School, excelled in the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams, scoring an impressive A-. His story went viral last month when a video of his father celebrating his stellar performance went viral on social media. The heartwarming moment was shared as part of Sanlam Group’s pan-African #PROUDMoments campaign, which highlights and celebrates everyday victories.
Nathan’s father, who has sacrificed a lot to educate his son, was overwhelmed with joy. His emotional reaction moved the Sanlam Group and inspired them to support Nathan’s education by fully funding his university fees. He will be placed in a university through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS).
Nathan, who dreams of studying medicine, expressed his deep gratitude for the scholarship. With his tuition and educational expenses covered, he can now focus on his studies without financial worries.
“I am truly humbled and grateful to Sanlam for this opportunity. It has always been my dream to become a doctor, and this scholarship brings me closer to that goal. I hope to use my education to improve my life, give back to my community and support my family,” said Nathan.
