The Government of Kenya has launched a national campaign to strengthen the moral and ethical foundation of the country’s young people. The Nurturing Natural Values” program, unveiled by the State Department for Parliamentary Affairs in partnership with the National Parents Association (NPA) and education leaders, aims to build integrity, discipline, and leadership among children and youth.

During the launch, Principal Secretary for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Aurelia Rono stressed the urgent need to place values at the center of national development. She said Kenya must guide its children with principles that shape future leadership.

“Nurturing values in our schools and communities is the foundation for responsible leadership and sustainable growth,” Dr. Rono said. She noted that children need integrity, respect, and discipline to help Kenya grow stronger.

She further reaffirmed the government’s resolve to work closely with parents, teachers, and community leaders. The goal is to ensure the program becomes part of daily learning and youth engagement activities across the country.

National Parents Association Chairperson Silas Obuhatsa welcomed the initiative. He said families and schools must work together to rebuild a culture of responsibility among young Kenyans.

“As parents, we have a shared duty to nurture our children’s character,” Obuhatsa said. He added that the partnership with government will help strengthen families and support schools as key centers of value formation.

The Nurturing Natural Values program will roll out in schools and youth centers nationwide. It will focus on mentorship, civic education, and leadership training. The launch marks a renewed national effort to raise a generation grounded in integrity, responsibility, and vision.
