The Nairobi Hospital Reaffirms Commitment to Uninterrupted Service and Leadership Excellence.

The Board of The Nairobi Hospital (TNH) today reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to service delivery and institutional integrity. During a press conference held at the hospital’s amphitheater, the Board addressed recent concerns amid reports about internal management matters.

The newly appointed Board Chair, Barclay Onyambu, emphasized the hospital’s dedication to providing quality healthcare. “Leadership confidence is vital to any institution, particularly one as central to public health as The Nairobi Hospital,” said the Chair. “While recent reports on integrity and leadership have surfaced, these are isolated incidents. They do not distract from our focus. The Board continues to work cohesively, guided by strong leadership and shared values.”

Supporting this stance, Acting CEO Felix Osano added, “Our commitment to excellence remains steadfast. We are taking decisive steps to address challenges, ensuring The Nairobi Hospital remains a beacon of trust and quality healthcare in Kenya.”

In recent months, the hospital has undergone changes in its Board of Directors to enhance governance and operational excellence. The new members bring diverse expertise, strengthening strategic oversight and decision-making. “We believe these changes will accelerate our momentum toward institutional excellence,” the Chair noted.

However, the hospital has faced challenges, including an ongoing probe by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). The investigation, which began with a raid, raised concerns about patient confidentiality and data handling. In response, the High Court has issued orders staying the probe and granted anticipatory bail to Board members. The hospital has assured stakeholders of full cooperation with authorities while safeguarding patient privacy.

Additionally, internal disputes including doctor suspensions and governance issues have prompted calls for leadership reforms. Despite these hurdles, the Board remains optimistic. “We recognize that our leadership will be judged by how we navigate this period, the Chair stated. “Rest assured, measures are in place to ensure business continuity and uninterrupted.

“Kenyans’ faith in this institution has not gone unnoticed,” they affirmed. “As we navigate this chapter, we pledge to fully repay your trust in is and continue serving you in the best way possible,”the Chair noted.
