Nairobi – Nairobi ODM women delegates have thrown their weight behind Hon. Rosemary Okuta as the incoming county chairlady, linking their call for fresh leadership with the upcoming voter registration exercise by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
Constituency and ward chairladies said the exit of current chairlady Catherine Okoth was long overdue, insisting her leadership had fallen short of expectations. Their message was sharp and united: “Nairobi deserves better. Catherine must go!”
The women emphasized that real change can only be secured through the ballot, urging all ODM supporters to register as voters when the IEBC exercise begins on September 29, 2025. They called the registration drive a “decisive moment” for ODM women to shape their political destiny.
“This is not just about leadership, it is about participation,” said one delegate. “Every registered vote is a voice, and with IEBC opening the doors, our mission for empowerment under Hon. Rosemary Okuta becomes unstoppable.”
Okuta’s endorsement has been described as a unifying mission to uplift and empower women within the party. Supporters praised her as a servant leader with a clear vision to steer ODM women’s politics in Nairobi to greater heights.
Rallying behind the slogan “Chairlady Bora, Sio Bora Chairlady,” the ODM women vowed to match their political unity with active voter registration, marking both leadership change and civic duty as key pillars of their movement.
