Nairobi, October 10, 2025 — Wiper Party official and Kibwezi West delegate Urbanus Wambua, popularly known as Kana, has confirmed that Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka will fly the opposition flag in the 2027 General Election after receiving unanimous endorsement from key opposition leaders during the Wiper National Delegates Conference at Uhuru Park, Nairobi.

Speaking after the conference, Wambua said the day marked a historic moment for the opposition as leaders from different political formations rallied behind the former Vice President, describing him as “the unifying force to rescue Kenya.”

“We have officially endorsed His Excellency Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka as our presidential candidate for 2027 under the Wiper Patriotic Front,” Wambua said. “Today’s event was about unity and the launch of his official bid to lead this country.”

He applauded former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i, NARC–Kenya leader Martha Karua, DAP–Kenya leader Eugene Wamalwa, and Speaker Emeritus Justin Muturi for their show of solidarity, saying they had all agreed that Kalonzo would carry the coalition’s presidential flag.

“Matiang’i made it clear that the united opposition including Jubilee, NARC–Kenya, DAP–Kenya, and Wiper has one candidate: Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka,” Wambua said. “This is a consensus decision to ensure the opposition speaks with one voice and defeats the current regime in 2027.”

Eastern Region Declares Total Support

Wambua, who hails from Kibwezi West in Makueni County, dismissed claims of division in the Wiper stronghold after some leaders from the Eastern region failed to attend the event.

He accused some Members of Parliament of being “bought” by the ruling side and warned that voters in the region would not re-elect leaders who “betray the cause.”

“Those who skipped the event have shown they are not with us,” he said. “They belong to Kasongo’s side. Our people will never again elect such leaders. Eastern is now a total block for Kalonzo.”

He urged residents of Kibwezi and the larger Ukambani region to remain firm and united behind Kalonzo’s presidential bid, promising to campaign tirelessly until victory is achieved.

“I want to thank the people of Kibwezi West for standing strong and trusting me,” Wambua said. “Together, we will rescue this country from the hands of those who have betrayed Kenyans.”

Call for Unity and Change

Wambua echoed Kalonzo’s message of hope and transformation, saying the opposition is determined to build a Kenya where leadership is honest, youth have jobs, and citizens live with dignity.

“This is not just a campaign it is a mission to restore the soul of our nation,” he said. “We are united, and we are ready to take Kasongo home. The time to reclaim Kenya is now.”

As chants of “Komboa Kenya! Wantam!” filled Uhuru Park, Wambua said the endorsement of Kalonzo marked the beginning of a new chapter in Kenya’s political journey one built on unity, justice, and people-centered leadership.
