The Jubilee Party has reassured its members and the nation of its unity amid internal leadership wrangles, vowing to uphold its constitutional principles and focus on serving Kenyans. Addressing the press, the party leadership condemned attempts to disrupt its structures while reiterating its commitment to national development and accountability.
Speaking at the briefing, Hon. Sabina Chege, Jubilee’s Parliamentary Party Whip, welcomed a conservatory court order of 14 November 2024 that stopped an “illegal” National Executive Council (NEC) meeting convened by Hon. Jeremiah Kioni. The meeting, she said, was called without the participation of key NEC members. “Kioni has lost the legitimacy of the NEC, our elected leaders, our members and the people. His actions, including pretending to represent Jubilee at Azimio meetings, are unfortunate and misleading,” Chege declared.

The Jubilee party leadership emphasized that the party operates through established structures, not individuals. “Jubilee is not anyone’s playground. We are guided by our constitution to ensure it belongs to its members and the people of Kenya,” the statement said. The leaders dismissed Kioni’s actions as null and void, labeling him a “one-man guitar.”
On the state of the nation, the party acknowledged the government’s progress on the Big 4 Agenda, initiated during Jubilee’s tenure. “We pioneered the Big 4 Agenda, and it’s encouraging to see its progress,” the leaders noted, highlighting achievements in affordable housing, food security, and healthcare. They praised the fertilizer subsidy, which increased food reserves to 90 million bags and lowered Unga prices to Ksh. 95 per 2kg packet.
The party also urged the government to improve communication regarding the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) program. “This initiative is transformative, but the public needs clear information to avoid exclusion, especially those with chronic illnesses,” they added.
On education, the leaders wished the candidates sitting for national exams the best and emphasized the importance of nurturing the next generation. They reaffirmed their commitment to peace and development as the foundation of Jubilee’s mission.
The press conference, attended by senior officials including Hon. Nelson Dzuya and Hon. Kanini Kega, concluded with a united pledge to protect the party’s integrity and focus on the interests of the Kenyan people. “As a former ruling party, we remain committed to holding the government accountable,” Chege affirmed.
