Foodies Choice Awards Brings Together Food and Agriculture Leaders from Five African Countries

NAIROBI, Thursday, October 1, 2026 — Leaders and stakeholders from across Africa’s food and agriculture sectors gathered at the Sankara Hotel in Westlands, Nairobi, for the Foodies Choice Awards, an event celebrating the industry and bringing together voices from five African countries.

The event attracted participants from Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Ghana and Tanzania, creating a platform for engagement among stakeholders in the food and agriculture value chain.

Among those in attendance was Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development Mutahi Kagwe, whose presence underscored the importance of the agricultural sector in Kenya’s development agenda.

The Director of the Pest Control Products Board (PCPB), Damaris Maweu also attended the ceremony, joining industry leaders and other stakeholders for the occasion.

With representation from five countries, the Foodies Choice Awards brought together diverse perspectives from across the region, highlighting the connections between food, agriculture and the stakeholders who contribute to the sector.

The gathering provided an opportunity for participants to engage with one another and recognise the role of the food and agriculture industries in supporting livelihoods and economic activity across Africa.
