Kenya Is Burning, Act Now ,NAA Tells President Ahead of Saba Saba.

The National Alternative Alliance (NAA) has sounded the alarm, warning that Kenya is on the edge of collapse unless urgent reforms are made.

In a statement delivered at a Nairobi hotel, NAA accused President William Ruto’s administration of turning a blind eye to a nation in crisis.“Kenya is burning,” the Alliance declared, citing rising unrest, police brutality, youth unemployment, and runaway corruption.

As the country prepares to mark 25 years since the historic Saba Saba protests, NAA says the dream of democracy is fading. The group urged the President to show bold leadership or risk pushing the country further into chaos.

The Alliance called for the immediate release of all arrested protesters, compensation for victims of police violence, and a stop to abductions and extrajudicial killings.

It also wants key security bosses, including the Interior CS, Inspector General of Police, and DCI director, removed from office. To calm national tension, NAA proposed a civic-led national dialogue bringing together youth, leaders, and civil society.

This dialogue, they said, should tackle corruption, inequality, economic hardship, and job creation.NAA also listed more than a dozen corruption scandals, from the KEMSA mosquito nets saga to the fertilizer, fuel, and housing levy scandals.

“Kenyans do not want lectures they demand action,” the statement read.To fight unemployment, the group wants 30,000 youth recruited into the police and KDF. It also proposed 500,000 contract jobs through the Teachers Service Commission and more public internships.

NAA further called for the revival of youth programs like the Uwezo Fund and Youth Enterprise Fund, and urged the reversal of recent changes to university funding and student elections.

“The hopes of millions of Kenyans hang in the balance,” NAA said. “This moment demands courage, honesty, and leadership.”As Saba Saba draws near, pressure is mounting on the government to act or face a generation that refuses to be silenced.
