Kutus Queens & Kiriko Crowned Champs in Thrilling Mary Maingi Super Cup Finals.

Wang’uru Stadium came alive as the Hon. Mary Maingi Super Cup reached its thrilling climax. Thousands cheered as Kutus Queens and Kiriko FC emerged champions after dramatic penalty shootouts in the women’s and men’s finals.

The women’s final saw Kutus Queens edge Mukou Queens 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Earlier, Ndorome claimed third place with a 2-0 win over Murubara. The men’s final was just as tense, with Kiriko defeating Kinyaga 7-6 on penalties following another 1-1 stalemate.

Music stars Wadagliz and Joyce Wa Mama kept the energy high with electrifying performances. Fans danced to hits like ‘Anguka Nayo’ as the tournament blended sport and culture perfectly.

Hon. Mary Maingi praised the players and fans, urging youth to focus on talent over divisive politics. “Football unites us,” she said. “This is how we build a better Mwea.”

Mwea East DCC Fred Ayieko highlighted the event’s role in fighting drug abuse. “Sports keep youth engaged and productive,” he said.

With Season 2 a success, plans for an even bigger Season 3 are underway. The tournament continues to shine as Mwea’s premier grassroots football event.
