Nairobi, September 7, 2025 -Women in Mathare have joined the growing wave of support for Rosemary Okuta, declaring their backing for her bid to become the next Nairobi ODM Women’s Chairlady. They say the time has come for new leadership that will drive development and bring long-overdue change to the seat.
For years, the women argue, the position has delivered little impact at the grassroots level. They believe Okuta’s leadership will open fresh opportunities for women, especially those struggling with daily challenges in informal settlements.
According to them, the ODM women’s league needs a chairlady who understands the realities of the community and can push for empowerment programs that directly benefit women and families. They insist Rosemary represents integrity, unity, and a vision that matches the aspirations of ordinary women in Nairobi.
Their support adds momentum to a growing movement across the city that is calling for a leadership shake-up. With the women of Mathare now firmly behind her, Okuta’s candidacy appears to be gathering unstoppable energy ahead of the crucial vote.
