NAIROBI, Kenya — Westlands parliamentary aspirant Brian Mwema has outlined an agenda centred on job creation, improved water supply, education and better neighbourhood infrastructure as he seeks to represent the constituency in the 2027 General Election.

Mwema says his proposed development agenda will focus on addressing challenges affecting residents across Westlands’ five wards, with an emphasis on creating economic opportunities and improving access to essential services.

Under the slogan “Westlands Safi, Kazi Safi”, the aspirant has identified employment and business opportunities as key priorities, proposing stronger links between residents and potential employers across hotels, hospitals, shopping malls, offices and residential establishments.

He also plans to work with relevant agencies to improve water supply, expand household connections and address drainage and sanitation challenges in the constituency.

On education, Mwema is proposing the construction of additional classrooms, particularly for Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) and junior secondary schools, alongside improved school facilities and safer learning environments.

His agenda also places emphasis on improving local roads, installing street lighting, maintaining cleaner neighbourhoods and promoting orderly markets.

The aspirant further proposes supporting initiatives targeting young people and women as part of efforts to improve livelihoods and strengthen community development.

Mwema says he is engaging residents across the constituency’s five wards to gather their views and shape solutions around their needs.

The wards covered in his proposed outreach include Kitisuru, Kangemi, Mountain View, Parklands/Highridge and Karura.

His development priorities come as political aspirants begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election, with service delivery, employment and access to basic infrastructure expected to feature prominently in constituency-level campaigns.

However, the proposed agenda will require collaboration with relevant government agencies and other stakeholders, particularly in areas such as water provision, education and infrastructure development.
