September 15, 2026 – SanlamAllianz General Insurance (Kenya) Limited recorded a 21 per cent rise in profit after tax in 2025, as the insurer credited its agents, bancassurance partners and brokers for helping strengthen the business following the integration of Jubilee Allianz and Sanlam General.
The insurer reported profit before tax of KSh344 million in 2025, up from KSh284 million the previous year, while insurance revenue increased to KSh7.9 billion from KSh7.4 billion. The improved performance comes as the company continues to consolidate its operations and strengthen its position in the Kenyan insurance market.
The results were announced during SanlamAllianz Kenya’s Annual Excellence Awards gala held at its head office in Westlands, Nairobi, where the company recognised intermediaries for their contribution to business growth and customer service.
Chief Executive Officer George Kuria said the improved performance reflected renewed momentum within the business, pointing to stronger capabilities and growing confidence in the company’s approach to the market.
“These achievements reflect renewed momentum in the business and growing confidence in our brand and market approach,” Kuria said. “Bringing together deeper expertise, stronger capabilities and broader experience means we can better serve our customers and partners.”
He said the company’s next priority would include expanding its small and medium-sized enterprise business by developing simple and relevant insurance solutions tailored to the needs of enterprises in Kenya.
The improved financial performance has followed investments in enhanced information technology systems, business processes and staff development. According to the company, these changes are aimed at strengthening internal capabilities and improving the customer experience in the coming years.
Kuria described intermediaries as the heartbeat of the business, highlighting the role played by agents, brokers and bancassurance partners in reaching customers and driving the insurer’s growth.
The awards recognised performance across several categories. Seven agents won trips to China, while 12 others earned getaways to Diani on the Kenyan coast. Other agents were recognised for consistency, discipline and commitment to customers.
In the agency category, awards covered Growth, Product Mix, Profitability and Agent of the Year. Bancassurance partners competed in Growth, Product Mix, Profitability and Bank of the Year categories, while brokers were recognised through five categories, including Retention Champions, Growth, Product Mix, Profitability and Rising Stars.
The Rising Stars category was introduced to recognise emerging local insurance talent entering the industry, reflecting the company’s focus on recognising both established performers and a new generation of professionals.
The awards come as SanlamAllianz completes its regional rebrand following last year’s merger, with the Kenyan business saying it will continue working with its network of agents, bancassurance partners and brokers as it pursues further growth through the remainder of 2026.
SanlamAllianz is a joint venture between Sanlam and Allianz and operates across 25 African countries. In Kenya, the group operates through Sanlam Allianz General Insurance (Kenya) Limited and Sanlam Allianz Life Insurance (Kenya) Limited, offering insurance and other financial services to the local market.
